In January, I started to think about what I would like to accomplish in the month of February. I used monthly goals towards the end of 2012, and while I did not accomplish every goal, every month, I did get some things done.
I am continuing my love of reading this month with a goal of reading at least two books this month. I’ve already started Sister Citizen by Melissa Harris-Perry and hope to finish it in the first half of the month. This book is actually part of the reading list for an online book club I belong to. Seeing it on the list gave me the motivation to read the book after hearing about it years ago. There are several (maybe over 100) on my to-read list. But I will decide once I finish this book.
I mentioned that working out consistently has taken a back seat to anything and everything that is happening in my life. This month my goal is to complete at least twelve workouts. I am sticking to mixing running with TurboFire since that has worked for me so far.
Sweets are my favorite foods. I am a cookie, cake, and ice cream kind of woman. I am definitely in the excessive territory and need to reign it in. My goal, and this is a small step towards health, is to restrict the sugary treats to two days a week. I like the idea of Sunday Fun-day, but honestly, a single day of sweets is not something I am ready to promise. Two days seems doable. So yeah, Sunday Fun-day and then another treat at another point in the week.
Although I am not into Valentine’s Day, I am always into people letting the people the love, know it. So this month I will send a little love to several people in my life that I love.
Four goals for the month sounds like a good starting point for the year. What are your goals for February?
